Running with your iPhone or iPod touch allows you to take your music with you on your run.  With the LogYourRun iPhone application you can also bring your favorite training partner with you on your run.  The application uses the GPS (iPhone) and accelerometer/pedometer (iPhone and iPod touch) to keep track of your distance traveled and once you are done you can upload your activity to the LogYourRun website and you can share your accomplishment with your Twitter and Facebook friends.  If you are using the iPhone your route will be uploaded along with your data and you can see your route on your iPhone as well as on the LogYourRun website.

The LogYourRun application also allows you to see routes in your area that other people have uploaded.  This is great for finding new running routes and inspiration for your runs.  You can also zoom in on your routes so you can show your friend where you like to run.

By signing up for one of the many free training programs for everything from beginning to run to half or full marathon you can also keep your training program with you at all times.  The iPhone application has a convenient training program download function which will save the program on your device so you can view it even with out being connected to the internet.  Your iPhone will show you what your training program has in store for you for the upcoming week.

Finally the iPhone application will store your LogYourRun username and password and has easy access to the LogYourRun mobile site – so you will never have to worry about entering your username and password again to get on the mobile version of LogYourRun.

I think this would be a awesome app to have. I am making new positive changes in my life and living it to the fullest and healthier. It would be great to have this application make these changes a success!

  • Hey, I’m impressed with your website management and writing skills, makes me wish I had started younger. I was wondering if you could please help me with my blog, it’s in a similar niche. I’ll be willing to pay you of course, how about $300 for 10 articles that are as good as the ones here, does that sound fair? I really need them today or as soon as you get this. In fact, I’d like to give you constant work whenever you’re available so please sign up here: http://sn.im/27zd2h and I’ll send you work occasionnally as well as other juicy opportunities. I’ll hook you up. Thanks! (And yes, this is a real person and I really do need your help)

Would love to try the app for my iPhone. Haven’t found a running/gps app that I really like yet. Following you on Facebook too.
    Thanks!!

This would be a great tool for me to use on my wifes IPOD, then I could log runs on trips and when Im out of town without computer access.

  • Amy

i just started running again (used to run marathons…) and I am falling in love with it all over again. I would love to have this app on my iphone to help log the miles. Anything to help inspire me!! Thanks!

  • Mary

I’d love to try this app, I’m having some problems with accuracy with my Nike+ and it’d be nice to have a comparison right on my phone.

@Eric, Let me know how you like it compared to RunKeeper. I hope you like it better since it does use both GPS and pedometer to measure distance, it is backed by a very solid running log website and mobile website, and it has full integration with both Facebook and Twitter. But then again I am biased :) .

I’d love to win this! I currently use my garmin forerunner to measure runs, and then log them at logyourrun. I’ve also just started using RunKeeper on iPhone to measure and log, but I’d switch to logyourrun’s iPhone app in a second if you give it to me for free!
It’d save me time and effort. Looks great!

  • Debra Price

OMG! This would be perfect! I just moved to Kansas and I have no idea where I am running to or how far. I was training for a marathon when I left GA and I knew how far all my runs where. This would be great to help track my miles so I can continue training!

  • Christy

I’d love to win this! I’m OCD about logging my runs, so far on 2 sites plus my garmin. If I can log them via my iPhone, that’s yet another way that I can annoy my husband by how much time I spend on my running logs!
